Love these guys! Saw them twice and they kicked ass!
Anyone else like them? thoughts?

They do kick ass! I've never seen them live, but I've always heard they put on a great live show. Their last album, American Capitalist, wasn't as good as their other two, but it wasn't bad, either. It just wasn't quite up to the level I expect from them.

Yeah, I know what you mean. After Mat left I think they started to go towards a more mainstreamish sound.
But they totally kick ass live!

I'd love to see them live.

I'd also love to see their live show. I often listen to them when working out.

I'm more into the old folks like Priest, Maiden, Venom, etc.

Five Finger Deathpunch are great. In my top three favorites. I started listening to them when they' weren't really well known, but now they're more well-known. It's good to see them expanding their audience a little.

Yeah. When American Capitalist i wasn't sure of what to think at first.
But its grown on me lol. Hope to see them again! Can't wait till there next album

Yeah, I know what you mean about their music being really good when they weren't well-known. I'm assuming you're talking about when they were known as Motograter? But the thing is, that's how a lot of bands are. As soon as they sign a major record deal, they have to compromise a lot of their creativity and soul. Just look what happened with Three Days Grace recently. I'm still reeling from the shock of that.

I know, I can't believe there going in a more techno-ish rock sound.
Not completely but chalkline is an example. Definitly different from there first two albums.
As far as motograter goes that was a good band. What i was refering to though was The way of the fist was pure metal, pit worthy straight to your face.
War is the answer and American capitalist are still heavy but you can tell they departed from there original sound and are starting to go towards a wider audiance, which isn't always a bad thing.
However if your use to there more pit worthy songs like hate me or white knuckles its a bit of a shock at first. Sorry if i rambled to much.

Actually, I was referring to the fact that Adam Gontier left Three Days Grace. Basically, what happened was that they released their latest album, had a tour booked and everything, and then he just decided to quit. What made it even shittier was that he had his lawyer tell his bandmates because he was too much of a pussy to tell them himself. The official story was that it was due to "health problems." So naturally, speculations started flying that he was using drugs again. But then he came back and said that he would rather pursue a solo career because his mental health was suffering from being with Three Days Grace. In a nutshell, he said this was due to the fact that the songs he was writing for them weren't coming from his heart. Come on now, you have to know when you sign a major label contract that you're going to lose at least some creative control. Sorry, I know this topic is about Five Finger Death Punch, but I had to explain that, because it still pisses me off. Oh, and to give you an even better reason to throw up, they have the singer from My Darkest Days touring with them at the moment. Thank God it's not a permanent arrangement. Look up Riot with Matt Walst on vocals on Youtube and tell me its not cringeworthy.

Its all good, I'll do that.
Hmm, interesting replacement choice.

While i didn't find it crindge worthy, i'm definitly use to Adam's vocals more. But Mat's vocals aren't bad in my opinion

Post 16 by GreenTurtle (Music is life. Love. Vitality.) on Monday, 18-Mar-2013 22:16:26

I guess what I can't stand about Matt's vocals in this case is that they're so different from Adam's. I'm so glad I'm not in a band, because whether it's fair or not, most of what a band is judged on is how their singer sounds and the lyrics that they write. When a new singer comes into the picture, usually the band gets harshly criticized. While I try not to go that far, and in fairness I do like My Darkest Days, I just can't stomach that guy singing Adam's songs.

Five Finger is ausom. I've seen them live and they do put on a really great show. As for Three Days Grace, that's really disappointing to hear.
